Our Commitment to Privacy

At JJMK Studios, we believe in respecting your privacy. Barkeepr is designed with privacy in mind. We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or location, and we do not use any advertising or analytics tracking services.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Barkeepr does not collect:

• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or tracking data
• Device identifiers
• Advertising or marketing data

Local Data Storage

Your bar inventory, favorites, shopping list, and custom recipes are stored locally on your device by default. This data is under your control and is not accessible to us.

If you enable iCloud Sync (a Premium feature), your bar data is synced across your devices using Apple's iCloud service. This sync is handled entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's privacy policy. JJMK Studios does not have access to your iCloud-synced data.

Recipe Data

Barkeepr downloads cocktail recipes and ingredient information from our servers to display within the app. This data transfer is one-way (from our servers to your device) and does not include any information about you or your usage.

AI Recipe Maker

Barkeepr Premium includes an AI-powered recipe generation feature. When you use the AI Recipe Maker, the following data is sent to our servers:

• Generic ingredient names and categories from your bar (e.g. "Bourbon Whiskey", "Lime Juice")
• Your selected preferences (spirit type, mood, flavor, and style)

This data is forwarded to a third-party AI service (Anthropic) to generate cocktail recipe suggestions. Importantly:

• No personally identifiable information is included in these requests — no user ID, name, email, or device identifiers are sent
• No specific brand or bottle details are sent — only generic ingredient types from our catalog (e.g. "Gin", not "Hendrick's Gin")
• Data is sent only when you actively tap the generate button — it is not sent in the background
• Anthropic's data usage policies can be reviewed at anthropic.com/policies/privacy

Barcode Scanning

When you scan a barcode to add a bottle, Barkeepr may look up the product using third-party barcode databases (Open Food Facts and UPCitemdb). The barcode number is sent to these services to identify the product.

To improve our product database, we may log barcode lookups (the barcode number, product name, and category) on our servers. These logs do not contain any personal information or information about your account or device.

In-App Purchases

Barkeepr offers optional premium subscriptions through Apple's App Store. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment information.

Third-Party Services

Barkeepr does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app does interact with the following third-party services for functional purposes only:

• Supabase — Our backend service, used to host cocktail recipes, ingredient data, and the AI recipe generation endpoint
• Anthropic — Provides AI-powered recipe generation (see "AI Recipe Maker" above)
• Open Food Facts & UPCitemdb — Barcode lookup databases used to identify scanned products
• Apple iCloud — Optional device-to-device sync for Premium users

None of these services receive your personal information, account details, or device identifiers from Barkeepr.

Children's Privacy

Barkeepr is intended for users of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
